I love highlighting my grooms during their engagement session as much as my brides. EJ was so eager to take direction and was so natural with Amanda. I love how gently he would bring her in and how happy he was to dance in the street with her.

Engagement sessions are so fun for all of us and allows me the chance to get to know you and how you are together before your wedding day!

This kind and unconditionally loving soul gets to meet her new mama today and I’m feeling a mix of so much gratitude that her adopter is everything we’d pictured and devastated we’re losing what feels like a member of our family.

What started as a chat with Nathan about how we have the means and I have the time to dedicate to rehabilitating and rescuing another life quickly turned into a phone call a few days later to a friend asking if she’d go with me to find ‘the one’. Amanda, you are a gem of a human and your commitment to your friendships makes me want to be a better friend - thank you for being there.

Despite so many desperate eyes and whines at the shelter, there was something about Pippa, named Gravy at the shelter, that made me keep going back to her.

After spending a little time with her, I decided to go for it and renamed her Pippa that day, to which she began responding to quickly. The shelter told me she was tagged for a rescue and that if I took her home, it wouldn’t be for long. Thinking about how sensitive I can be, I thought that was the perfect scenario - free a space for another animal and get this girl to a rescue.

After 3 months without contact, I received a very abrupt phone call from the shelter asking me to drop her off for her to go who knows where, to who knows who, for who knows how long, and I desperately wanted to be there for her after she was spayed. So I went in and formally adopted her and made her spay appointment myself. I knew I could find her the perfect home in time.

Here we are 5 months later and Pips has stolen all of our hearts and we have no regrets. She’s blossomed into an adventurous and silly girl. She loves cuddling her foster brother, running up and down the fence with our neighbor’s dog, and a tiny kong ball. She’s going to make a wonderful furever companion. 🐾
